NAVI MUMBAI: An FIR has been lodged against Haji Shahnawaz Khan, Navi Mumbai president, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), for putting up a hoarding with names and photographs of MNS leaders in sector 11, Vashi.
Haji Shahnawaz Khan said that it was an unfair police action against the MNS, since there are several other political banners still on display at various places. “However, only the MNS hoarding has been targeted.

Why? It has now been covered with a cloth,” he added.
Khan also said that he had gone to Vashi police station on learning about the FIR, but the investigating officer was reportedly not present; hence he was asked to come back later.
A officer from the Vashi police station said that Khan was booked for putting up a hoarding without any permission and during the code of conduct. He added that they have not seen any other political banner in their jurisdiction.
Earlier, Cidco and the civic body had issued directions that all political banners and hoardings must be removed.
